The new edition moves into the heart of Tokyo for three nights of live music featuring some of Japan’s most respected alternative and indie rock acts.

Attending Rock Anthem 2026 EX in Tokyo gives fans a chance to see top-tier Japanese musicians perform in an intimate theater setting. The Rock Anthem brand began as a large-scale festival at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. It became known for celebrating modern Japanese rock music. For 2026 organizers LD&K have changed the format. They are now holding the event at EX THEATER ROPPONGI, an high-quality venue in Roppongi, Tokyo.
Unlike the open spaces of suburban convention centers this spin-off focuses on a carefully planned three-night program. Each evening features a lineup of major rock bands and solo performers.
Three Nights of Japanese Rock Performances
The first night kicks off with OKAMOTO’S, known for their garage rock and retro-pop sounds. They are joined by The Dresscodes, a band for theatrical art-rock performances and THE BAWDIES, a lively group that blends vintage rock and roll with high-energy stage presence.
On the night the music turns heavier and more melodic. The lineup includes ACIDMAN, a standing name in alternative rock. STRAIGHTENER and THE BACK HORN also play, bringing their signature sound and dynamic live shows.
The final night brings together indie pop-rock and heartfelt melodies. TenTwenty, an indie pop-rock group shares the stage with Base Ball Bear, a highly respected three-piece band and singer-guitarist Soichiro Yamauchi.
